OUR FOUNDER
A lifelong curiosity for how things work.
Chitesh Chachan founded SmartHub in Siliguri in 2019. As a child, he was drawn to electronics—always wanting to understand the logic inside a device and what made it work. That curiosity mattered more to him than conventional academic success.
He studied at St. Joseph’s School, North Point, in Darjeeling. During college, he worked with his uncle’s construction company on roads, bridges and high-tension power lines, travelling across India and learning how large projects come together. His love of electronics remained constant.
The idea for SmartHub took shape in a tiny 2 × 2 room. Chitesh started the business with a ₹5 lakh loan and a 500 sq ft shop. Today, SmartHub has more than 20 employees and has completed over 500 projects across West Bengal, Assam, Bhutan and Nepal. The company now has a 5,000 sq ft showroom in Siliguri and branches in Kolkata and Guwahati, with more to come.
